Terms of use

Effective September 2, 2026. Operated by Downshift.

Informational, not professional advice

The Job Numbers publishes pricing data, calculators, and software comparisons for contractors. Everything here is general information — not accounting, legal, tax, or bidding advice for your specific business. Calculator outputs are only as good as the inputs you type; sanity-check any number before you put it in a bid.

What the verification stamps mean

A “verified as of” stamp means we observed that price from the stated source on that date — our methodology explains exactly how. Vendors change prices without notice; a stamp is a record of what we saw, not a guarantee of what you’ll be quoted today. Material prices vary by store even within a metro.

Affiliate links

Some outbound vendor links pay us a commission, disclosed on the disclosure page. Affiliate status never changes a ranking, a verdict, or a published price.

Acceptable use

Don’t scrape the site at abusive rates, misrepresent our data as your own, or submit false user-reported prices. Quoting our numbers with a link and date is welcome.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Downshift is not liable for losses arising from reliance on the numbers published here — including bids priced from calculator outputs or software purchased based on our comparisons.

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above changes when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
